| This is responsible work providing emergency communications support and services for EMS and Fire Agencies through the operation of the Enhanced 911 phone system and Computer Aided Dispatch system. | |
Examples Of Essential Duties: |

| Incumbent will answer emergency 911 phone calls and other non-emergency phone calls received in the Emergency Dispatch Center. Must provide pre-arrival instructions as taught by the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch and provide emergency radio communications for Lee County EMS, area fire departments and other Public Safety agencies. | |

| Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to: Graduation from high school and six months of related experience. Incumbent must successfully complete courses in Lee County Enhanced 911, Emergency Medical Dispatch by the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch and must become certified by the American Heart Association in BLS Healthcare CPR/AED. Requires the ability to communicate effectively and accurately via the County Computer Aided Dispatch System. Ability to type 30 cwpm (Correct Words Per Minute) on a typing test administered by Lee County Human Resources is required. | |

Prefer experience with EMS, Fire, or Law Enforcement communications using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems, voice/radio communications
equipment, and E-911 systems. Geographical knowledge of Lee County and emergency medical protocol and procedures is preferred. This position
requires a typing test. If you live in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry or Glades County, you are required to take the test BEFORE your
application will be accepted for consideration. Please come to our Human Resources office between 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. M-F on a walk-in
basis to take the typing test. We are located at 2115 Second St. Fort Myers, FL 33901. WORK HOURS/DAYS: 12 hour shifts rotating from days to nights (84 hours bi-weekly) |
