 Lee County Division of Public Safety: Telecommunications Program

 

We are proud to announce that through the hard work of the Emergency Dispatchers of Lee Control we have been certified as a Center of Excellence by the National Academies of Emergency Dispatch. 

  

The Emergency Dispatch Center, known by the radio call sign "Lee Control", is the Secondary E9-1-1 Answering Point (PSAP) and Emergency Dispatch Center (EDC)for Lee County Emergency Medical Services and most of Lee County's Fire Districts. 

The mission of the Lee County Emergency Dispatch Center is to maintain an accurate, rapid and reliable communications link for the citizens of Lee County to the Lee County Emergency Medical Service, and the independent fire protection agencies of Lee County. The dispatch center will also provide other communications operations as directed by competent authority. Specifically, Lee Control will:

  • Ensure the accurate and rapid reception of requests for emergency assistance from citizens using the Enhanced 9-1-1 system or other communications media.
  • Ensure the accurate, rapid and reliable dispatch of emergency responders in accordance with applicable directives, protocols and procedures.
  • Give information or other Prearrival Instructions to the callers to stop further harm from being done or to begin treating the injured party in accordance with our training and protocols.
  • Provide other communications operations within available resources to any contingency and emergency situation such as mass casualty incidents and natural disasters.
